2003 – The beginning
Two of the promoters met in Milan during
a study semester abroad, where they were
both casted for a summer job on Sardinia.
Being Drum’n’Bass enthusiasts
for quite a while they got in touch with
the local music scene quite easily. They
start to co-organize several beach parties
where they are DJing together with Sardinian
artists and the local Drum’n’Bass
scene.
Simply being blown away by the beauty
of the island, they come up with a fantastic
idea: Why not invite some artists and friends
to party together in this incredible surrounding?
Sharing their idea with some of their best
friends, the SUNANDBASS Crew was born.
The vision: Bringing together music lovers
from all over the world to experience the
uniqueness of Sardinia as a Drum’n’Bass
holiday spot!
Having set up some connections
through promoting smaller parties and club
series in Germany for some years it was
easy to put together quite an impressive
line up in a rather short amount of time.
But it was the lack of planning time, which
finally made the organisers to cancel the
first proper edition of SUNANDBASS and
to reduce the festival week to some smaller
parties at the beaches. However, the idea
was born. |
